Let God Make It Easier

Tri-Cities, WA 2009: Whizzing beneath a train, bouncing atop frigid waters, going against the mighty stream, and navigating the waves, winds, and wakes, life behind Christ cruises over the top of troubles and aims for the big stakes. Find that spiritual sweet spot today!

From Trent Ling:

Many deem themselves too good for God, insisting upon some grand and convoluted scheme to deliver their dreams.  If only everybody would heed this forbearing letter of instruction for the humble and the human.  Most will skip right past it en route to another exciting 200-mile-per-hour train wreck.  Anyway, here it was.

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.  Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.  For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”  Matthew 11:28-30.

Anyone suffering a spiritually hard gig with heavy burdens must simply not be wearing the yoke of Jesus.  Either they have never worn it, or they have broken it off.  Rather than conjuring a thousand ways to soothe the hard and heavy, the troubled must simply get back under the light and easy yoke of Christ.  Very simple.

“But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumphal procession in Christ.”  2 Corinthians 2:14.

Those losing spiritually must not be following Christ, because otherwise they would be winning always.  Therefore, rather than configuring a hundred different strategies for possible victory, getting back in line behind a leading Christ would immediately guarantee ongoing, perpetual triumph.  Again, very simple.

Satan and his religious profiteers have muddled the landscape and have head-faked the people into over-thinking and over-buying false answers alternative to these free, straightforward, and timeless truths.  Commonly, many people do genuinely care about their spouses, children, parents, extended families, neighbors, and the world around them.  However, almost nobody has answers as to how to help, lead, or deliver these people so cared for.  In the midst of working through life’s worries (Luke 8:14) people almost immediately lose track of God’s simple truths and then find themselves immersed beneath decades of tail chasing.  Satan is a goof; profiteers really have nothing to say; and letting go of the Scriptures can only be warned against so many times before God lets the people have at it.  The tragedy of ignoring these facts can best be seen in the spiritual impotence by which loved ones are vaguely seen, routinely misdiagnosed, and hardly ever helped.  So much for people caring about people.  As if nailed to the floor by insistently ignoring this letter and its origins, people willingly refuse to be able to do anything for anyone.

God’s goals meticulously include people helping their people.  He comes on the scene to make it a priority and to make it easier.  God loves the people more than the people do.  So joining forces with God to love and deliver one’s people would represent the best move available.  God’s superior ways, shared with the caring, transforms mere mouthers into the deliverers they professed to want to be.  So be one.

Following God and his Christ aims not toward gaining personal wants, but toward being lead in great undertakings by One greater than any and all.  People, especially those who care about people, need to get to God that the task and goal of helping others cannot only take place, but advance powerfully and joyfully.

Kids, spouses, and many others will forever thank those who wore the Yoke and followed the Procession, and were not too great or magnificent to do so.

  1. Matthew 11 scriptures above are so dear to me, always warm my heart. Rest for our souls. I say it because I have tasted it. Relying on my own strength and way, I’d drive myself crazy and powerless in helping people for real, seeing to what they really need. Definitely with God, things are made easier!

  2. Amen! I agree one hundred percent 🙂 Please sisters (you know who you are :D), no more picking up your hubby’s yoke; it will only weigh you down! Let God help you by throwing everything that hinders (not afraid to tell it out sisters!) and pick up Jesus’ yoke. I’m rooting for you…
