Podcast: Find Out

Chicago, IL 2004: Sometimes you have to try this and that, look here and there, and work hard to get the right look. Finally, with proper hats selected, it’s time to move on. Spiritually, everyone also needs to “find out” what is really going on and what God has to say about it.

Trent Ling’s preached message, “Find Out” enters the website’s public podcast library today.

Along any meaningful spiritual journey there will be trouble, confusion, and doubt.  Many consequential decisions will have to be made.  Most often, people wear thin and reach conclusions in their heads that have little connection to reality.  This makes it nearly impossible for God or God’s people to help and rescue the struggling.

“I’ve been at this racquet for a while,” Trent asserts. “Those who stay humble and hungry make it; and those who do not, fall, flounder, and fail.  Though the truth is always at hand, many simply no longer want to hear it.  The truth would only get in the way of their pet conclusions so they head for the hills.  Finding out what is really happening would only inconvenience the getaway mind.  But, for those humble in heart and up for God’s will and not their own, God can be found and his will can be readily understood no matter the difficulties encountered. Seriously, for your own soul and the souls of those you impact, find out what is really going on, first and foremost.”

This message features the reading and preaching of the following Scriptures:

Psalm 139:7-8

James 1:25

Colossians 2:18-19

1 Corinthians 11:31-32

Jeremiah 46:28

  1. Wow! This message explains a lot. I have to set my heart in finding out what pleases God and what doesn’t. I should not wait for the heavy hand of God to be placed on me for me to know what God is after in a particular situation. I have to find the understanding and revelation I need in the Scriptures so that He can renew my attitude in Christ every day. I chose the first option of feeling God’s pressure and “fixing” what is wrong immediately in order to please Him.

  2. I just shared with the sisters that you need to “find out” so you don’t just take the words of your spouses. This is not a matter of trust! It’s a more excellence way to correct any misunderstanding. Because often time when you didn’t really agree and too lazy to search the bible to find out or be open with what you’re not agreeing… you’ll end up having a bitter root in your heart toward your brother or sister. Proverbs 18:17 The first to present his case seems right, till another comes forward and questions him. Awesome message!
