Podcast: Honor My God

The Nile River, Egypt 2009: The famed Nile River from the Old Testament has endured for thousands of years. The God who made it has been around forever. With these considerations, may perspectives shift and may God be much more honored and revered.

Trent Ling’s preached message, “Honor My God,” now comes available as a public podcast.

“I am not possessed by a demon,” Jesus said, “but I honor my Father and you dishonor me.”  John 8:49.

This message aims to move core spiritual living away from an interpersonal deal amongst people, and much more toward a rightened relationship between people and God.

“So much ministering time and effort goes utterly wasted trying to work out feelings and dynamics person-to-person,” Trent laments.  “As was the case with Jesus (quoted above), those who are rightly busy honoring God in Heaven are typically completely dishonored or worse by those who pay to God no meaningful attention at all.  The needy naysayers must simply join those who honor God.  Such marks the only kind of real life that lasts, and the Bible insists upon it.  This appeal is not about you and me, but about you and God.”

This message features the reading and preaching of the following Scriptures:

Matthew 23:8-10

Acts 14:11-13, 18

Isaiah 65:2

Lamentations 3:22-23

Revelation 4:8-11

Joshua 24:23

  1. This reminds of this scripture in Isaiah 29:13 “These people come near to me with their mouth and honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. Their worship of me is made up only of rules taught by men.
I honor my God by not being a wimp, speak the truth in love not because I have to and become like a robot, a dutiful disciple, but because it’s needed and I’m fully supplied by Him.

  2. Often when I don’t comment, I am personally humbled to the point of just wondering why God would be so gracious, loving, and forgiving to offer me any type of relationship with the only God in Heaven that there is. I will make a greater effort to at least show my Father the gratitude in my heart for the love He has given me – by writing something! Thank you Father.
