Podcast: Solid or Hollow?

Orlando, FL 2004: The question on Easter morning is not how many eggs were found or how much candy was received, but whether the chocolate bunny behind the 10-year-old is solid or hollow?

Trent Ling’s preached message, “Solid or Hollow?” arrives into the website’s podcast library today.

Examining people individually, Trent addresses a root source of many problems—the lack of solidity (also known as hollowness).  Spiritually, it remains quite impossible to follow Christ with persistently hollow aspects in character, heart, or mind.

“The Bible is always so very good to us,” Trent insists. “Quickly and straightforwardly, it diagnoses our shortcomings and provides immediate direction and eventual solution.  Filling empty spaces with Christ and losing some air represent two giant and indispensable steps in the right direction.  This message will test and measure those who claim to be up for the good fight of the faith.  While many have tried to soldier onward without getting this teaching into their lives, none of them have made much progress.  Sadly, most have simply blown away in the wind.  This one cannot successfully be ignored.”

This message features the reading and preaching of the following Scriptures:

Mark 14:49

Isaiah 7:9B

Leviticus 5:2-6

1 Thessalonians 2:1-3

  1. I have to avoid convenience in order to be solid and stand firm in the Lord. I have to be resolute! I am either “standing or not standing at all.” (Isaiah 7:19B)
It also awesome to understand why and how “the scriptures must be fulfilled” in my life. I have experienced His wonderful love, grace and mercy and on the other hand, I have experienced His heavy, chastising hand. Very cool!

  2. This message is wonderful. I see how I have patches of hollowness and God has been trying to show me that. I remember: (http://www.trentling.com/video-preach-brittle-beliefs/ on this website) and seeing the brittleness in my life. I can see how I have not “stood firm in my faith” as I have allowed things like worry, frustration, and guilt, to move me. I’d like to add more as I understand more. Love you
