Trent TV: House Divided

Today’s Trent TV episode puts the United States and its Election 2012 circus into some novel and proper perspective.  With the campaign heating up and the partisans going all-out, what will come of it eventually?  Trent shares some analogy, insight, and sobriety on the topic.

“For a very long time, I have found the longings and ideals of man to be of worthy and fascinating study,” Trent shares. “In the political theater, these phenomena burst forth and come even more alive with great promise and fanfare.  However, the very stark and sad realities must be faced at some point.  Why not take some of them on the chin today just to start getting used to it?  Ouch!”

  1. This reminds me of how Daniel interpret king Nebuchadnezzar’s dream. Daniel 2:42 As the toes were partly iron and partly clay, so this kingdom will be partly strong and partly brittle. 43 And just as you saw the iron mixed with baked clay, so the people will be a mixture and will not remain united, any more than iron mixes with clay.
44 “In the time of those kings, the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be destroyed, nor will it be left to another people. It will crush(A) all those kingdoms(B) and bring them to an end, but it will itself endure forever.(C)

  2. It is so sad. For the most part people are divided in a shallow way such as who’s party they’re loyal to rather than on actual issues. I see family and friends going at it more often than not. The divide is powerful! Amen for God giving Disciples of Jesus the spirit of unity as we follow Christ Jesus (Rom 15:5). Whatever happened to the ‘remaining faith, hope and love’? The world seems to be drying up quickly on these characteristics. To be honest, I think many of us need to carefully watch ourselves including myself. Amen!
